What Is a Miqat?

The Miqat is the boundary where pilgrims must enter the state of Ihram before Umrah or Hajj. Crossing it without Ihram (when intending pilgrimage) requires a compensatory sacrifice — so getting the Miqat right matters.

Which Miqat Do You Use?

  • **Landing in Jeddah for Umrah:** you crossed the Miqat mid-flight — wear Ihram before boarding, or do a Tan'im run if you stayed in Jeddah first
  • **Coming from Madinah:** Dhu'l-Hulayfah (Abyar Ali)
  • **Coming from Taif:** Qarn al-Manazil
  • **Already in Makkah:** Tan'im (Masjid Aisha)

  • What Happens at the Miqat

  • Ghusl (ritual bath) — facilities at every major Miqat
  • Change into Ihram garments
  • Two rak'ahs prayer (Sunnah)
  • Make the niyyah (intention) and recite the Talbiyah

  • Allow 45–60 minutes. Our Miqat taxi builds this waiting time into the price.
